  • What is the difference between an API and an API Product?

API stands for Application Programming Interface. It is a ‘software intermediary’ that allows two applications to talk to each other. An API Product bundles resources (such as API proxies) in order to provide a specific level of access and functionality for client app developers. On the other hand an API product typically specifies a list of API proxies, along with access limits, API key approval methods, and other configurations that should be in place for all the bundled proxies.

  • What is the difference between the sandbox URL and a live URL?

A sandbox URL is used for testing and development in a controlled environment, separate from production. It often contains mock or test data and is accessed by developers or testers to debug and verify features without affecting real users. In contrast, a live URL operates in the production environment, using real data and serving end-users. All features are fully functional, and any issues can impact the application's performance or user experience. While the sandbox URL minimizes risks during development, the live URL represents the actual operational platform where the application is deployed for its intended audience.
